Possum in the House
I read this book as a child and drove my family crazy reciting every single word of it from memory. This was hands down my favourite book as a kid. I will definitely be sharing this joyous, fun little book with my children.

Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World
Wow! I really adored this book. The first 100 pages or so were a little slow but then things picked up and just kept rolling to tell a great story. This is the first 'angel' book I have read and I was pleasantly surprised. I look forward to book two.
Dare Me: A Novel
I would give this book 2.5 stars. The premise was interesting and I haven't read a book like it before. That being said it started out strong but then lost me the further I read. In the end I was mostly skimming through the pages trying to still get a sense of what was happening but also just wanting to hurry up and finish it. It had some interesting twists at the end but it wasn't the type of book to hook me in and never let go. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting an insiders look at high school cheer leading and how dangerous bored teenage girls can be.
If I Stay
I struggled a bit with this book. I liked the premise but reading the 'in-between' stuff was kind of slow. In the end though I got a little misty and had to know which choice Mia would make. While I was reading this I thought I would rate it around 2.5 stars but the ending brought it home to a 3 star rating. I just added the second book; Where She Went to my TBR.
Alice Hartley's Happiness
I only made it to about page 100. I am surprised I persisted that long. One word to describe this book? WOW, and not in a good way.
The Flight of Gemma Hardy: A Novel
I was first attracted to this book because it is loosely based on the novel Jane Eyre, which I have previously enjoyed. I can see similarities but this book still stands on it's own. I liked how the book was sectioned into the different times and trials of Gemma's flight through her mostly difficult life. I found the ending to be a bit disappointing, there could have been more but the author decided to leave it with many questions unanswered. Overall this was a good book and I would give it 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.
Hex Hall (Book 1)
I give this book 3.5 stars. I found it to be surprisingly good and the writing was far more mature than many YA books. I liked the character development and will read the other books in the series.
Crossed
I thought this book was good but not as interesting as the first in the series. I am nevertheless intrigued enough to read the final book.

I will not go gentle... Matched is a beautiful beginning to a series that I am sure will fast become one of my favourites.
The Selection
The Selection is an exceptional YA novel that brought many a smile, laugh and even a few tears to my face. I was caught up in the flurry of competition for prince Maxon's heart from the very beginning. I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did but I have found myself excited to follow along with the selection in the next book.
The Maze Runner (Maze Runner Series #1) (Maze Runner Trilogy, Book 1)
Amazing! This book kept me guessing till the very end and even now the story is not over. I look forward to reading the second book in the series, The Scorch Trials. I have gained a new favourite author.
Starters
Starters was a suprisingly good ya dystopian novel centering around Callie Woodland and her desperate attempt to provide for her younger brother Tyler. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the sequel, Enders coming out December this year. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in dystopian novels and fans of The Hunger Games.
